Paul Cox Garrard, Canadians

 

1888 Jan 31. Born Pendleton, Lancs. The 1911 census shows that his father was a Surgeon living at the same address as on Canadian form for P C Garrard. Parent were Charles Roland Ordish Garrard, Beatrice Elizabeth Garrard from baptismal records.

1891 census I cannot find him, he is not with his parents

1901 census A pupil at Trent College. Long Eaton, Derbys. His parents are in 30 Broad St, Pendleton

1908 Arrives in Canada from UK

1914 Dec 28. Enlisted in Canadian Exp Force . He was a Chemist. Previously served 4.5 years in RAMC Transport Coy at Manchester

1917 Sep 17. Can. Mach. Gun Corps. No. 106241 Corpl. P. C. Garrard to be temp. Lt.

1919 Jul 29 Retired from Canadian Forces

1921 Apr 10. Lanc Fus. To be Temp Lt. - Paul Cox Garrard

1921 Aug 15. 7th Bn., Lan. Fus. — Lt. P. C. Garrard (late Canadian M.G.C.) to be Lt.

1921 Jul 13. Lanc Fus. Relinquishes commission . Temp. Lts.: — P. C. Garrard,, and retains the rank of Lt.

1921 Dec 2 Joined ADRIC with service no 2207. Posted to A Coy

1922 Jan . Discharged on demobilisation of ADRIC

1923 Aug 18 Arrives in Canada from UK.

1923 Dec 7 Leaves Canada for UK

1924 Jan/Mar Married in Salford, Manchester to Marie Tansley

1924 Mar 28. Arrives Canada from UK with wife.

1929 Nov 2. 7th En. Lan. Fus.—Lt. P. C. Garrard ceases to hold a commn. in the T.A. He would appear to have done something wrong to merit this. It could be anything from not replying to letters to a conviction.

1943 Feb 1. Arrives by ship at Miami. He is a Canadian citizen
