There seems to be something wrong with his db. There is only 1 George William Bray born Miidlesex around that time and he was born in Feb 1882. Nothing fits in service recors nor 1939 register. The implication in his RIC entry is that he was a Merchant Seaman, but I cannot get hm there either.
